The production here is already upbeat and catchy as hell

and even house

the record does an excellent job of capturing the feel of those No Wave records while simultaneously mining 60s pop

HNNY / KOKO: Boy & Yob (Kornel Kovacs) 12" Sounds Of Africa Vinyl "Basement" takes it deeper intoKey repress! Don't sleep on this one. HNNY has been burning things up lately and this rework of Brandy & Monica's "The Boy Is Mine" is no exception. The producer slows down the arpeggio that rides through the song to a workable house tempo and lets things take their time building. An exquisitely programmed 2 step beat only adds to the effectiveness. Brandy and Monica get a little shine, but it's all about the instrumental here. KOKO (bka Kornl Kovcs)
